ChiBall Gentle Moves is a modified ChiBall class for older adults and anyone with reduced mobility. It brings the whole ChiBall cycle – from Tai Chi–Qi Gong to relaxation – into a gentle, low-impact class that can be taught seated or standing.
What’s in a Gentle Moves class
- Tai Chi–Qi Gong – slow, flowing movements to warm up
- ChiBall Dance – simple, rhythmic arm and upper-body movements
- Yoga – gentle stretches, many adapted for a chair
- Pilates – easy core and posture exercises
- ChiBall Release – soft, playful awareness movements such as the Pelvic Clock and Shoulder Rolling
- Breathing and relaxation – to finish calmly
The class is set to music from our Equilibrium album, and every participant holds a soft, aromatic ChiBall throughout.
Where it’s taught
Gentle Moves has been run in aged care facilities and community groups, and many community associations run free ChiBall classes for their members. Participants tell us they love the colours, the music and the chance to move together.
Bring Gentle Moves to your community
Teachers can learn to lead the class through our Gentle Moves course, and participants can follow along at home with the Gentle Moves download.
Gentle Moves is designed for wellbeing and enjoyment. Participants with a health condition or injury should check with their health professional before starting, and teachers should follow the screening guidance in the course manual.
